Princeton Junction, N.J., May 9, 2013–The Smart Card Alliance released today a series of videos to educate U.S. payments industry stakeholders on considerations for the U.S. migration to chip-enabled EMV payments on its EMV Connection website. Filmed in February at the 2013 Payments Summit, the ”How EMV Changes Payment” video series features industry experts from the Smart Card Alliance Payments Council and EMV Migration Forum.
“As the U.S. continues to migrate to chip-enabled EMV payments, industry stakeholders are looking for information on the changes and new processes necessary to issue EMV cards and accept EMV payment transactions,” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. “These workshop-style videos provide in-depth education on all EMV-related considerations that executives can watch at their own pace at work, at home, or while traveling.”

They include discussion of what changes issuers and acquirers/processors need to make, how the EMV testing and certification processes differ from current processes, how retailers can plan for EMV migration, and what transit agencies need to consider in migration.
